Tim Howan Uptown Mall BGC

Tim Howan is one of our favorite restaurant located in Bonifacio Global City. Just a few minutes from where we lived. What I loved most about Tim Howan is they are open til 3AM. Isn't it too good specially for the busy people like us who doesn't have enough time to spend outside. So Tim Howan in BGC is super nice place because it is so cozy and the food is great as well compared to their Megamall branch. I dine in to Megamall branch twice and I don't know why its not the same. We love Tim Howan whether with our kids along or just us.They have different set of meals for lunch and dinner.

We usually come late so we always ended up ordering the same thing.

I love their Beef Tendon Noodles, It was so delicious and the food is not overcooked or too salty. Taste is perfect all the time.

Chicken and Sausage Mushroom also is another must try comes with rice and their sauce.

Spring roll with egg white is also one of our favorite. Everything is delicious and well prepared. The price is so affordable too. You can also enjoy the venue specially during wee hours when its not too crowded unlike during the peak hours when you will have to wait longer to be seated.

Sonamoo Mart

Me and my husband are always busy with our loads of endless work in our business and in our home. We have a big family after all, we are also hands on to everything from taking care of our small kids to running the household and our business.

Our typical night would be dining out late at night, sometimes it's almost dawn. Funny but its true. We need a break too. Our so called us time. Time to bond and talk quietly no kids crying out for our attention.

So we went to Salang Restaurant in Ortigas Pasig City to satisfy our craving for Korean food but unluckily it was closed for whatever the reason we don't know. It was actually supposed to be open 24 hours a day but that night it was closed. So we went for a walk along the area and we found the Korean mart nearby, I was so hungry that time and I can no longer wait to look for any open stores to get our dinner. So we just shop at Sonamoo Mart bought samgapsal meat, condiments, kimchi, veggies, dimsum and ice cream for dessert. Then we went home to cook and have our dinner finally.

It was too good to be true our grocery only costs us 1250php it lasted for 3 separate meals. Usually when we dine out just the two of us it would cost us the same amount. I love their red bean ice cream it was one of the best that I have tasted. The samgapsal also is too delicious along with their kimchi which they personally make.

We are having a week of Korean food for our lunch and dinner at home. I am now learning how to prepare some of their dish like my all time favorite Gamjatang or the pork bone and potato stew with perilla leaves. Before that we used to eat out a lot at Masil located in Kapitolyo Pasig where they serve Gamjatang and the other one was Jang Ga Nae in Escriba drive near Goldland Millenia Tower but they are not 24 hour operational so we need to look for other stores when we can't make it on time.

Finally I will no longer need to crave at all, I can always have it anytime of the day. One more thing is they also accept deliveries which is way convenient for us. They have a minimum order of 2000php per order.

Next time I will share with you my recipe.

Kapampangan Leche Flan

I remember during my childhood, I grew up living with my grandma. She loves to cook a lot. One of my favorite dessert was her kapampangan leche flan. Instead of using the ordinary eggs she would use the ducks eggs. Here the recipe that I am going to share with you.

Ingredients:
  • 8 large duck egg yolks
  • 370ml evaporated milk
  • 300ml condensed milk
  • 1/2 tsp zest of calamansi
  • 1 cup sugar and just enough water (to give the sugar a wet sand like consistency)
Instructions:
In a sauce pan, caramelize the sugar over low heat. Let it slowly caramelized to a shiny golden amber, quickly coat the bottom of llaneras or glass container with caramel.
Prepare a medium bowl, mix egg yolks, evaporated milk, condensed milk and calamansi zest. Slowly mix in a circular motion until well blended. Using a fine strainer or clean cloth or cheese cloth, strain egg-milk mixture. Transfer strained mixture into prepared llaneras or glass container.
Place a foil cover on each llaneras or glass container and place in an already boiling steamer. Steam for 45-60 minutes or less for smaller pans. Not everyone is aware of, after steaming flan let it cool completely and refrigerate first to set.  this will make your flan perfectly shaped when you turn it over on a plate.
To serve, turn flan over on a serving plate. Enjoy the creamier and tastier leche flan than any chicken yolks flan.
